Update: New Year, New Opportunities

Following up on Olwen’s post from a few days ago, regarding the results from the Mid-Atlantic Erg Sprints last weekend. First of all, congratulations to all of those who participated and have been getting faster by logging in their meters this winter.

As mentioned, Potomac Boat Club won the 2017 Team Award with a final score of 297 points. The main composition of these points are attributed to the following medals: 28 gold, 13 silver, and 5 bronze. That said, I would like to point out that everyone who competed contributed, since PBC has always had a tremendous presence at this event every year. I also wanted to briefly recognize Alexandria Community Rowing, who got second place with a score of 254 points. They proved once again to be great competitors, and definitely walked away with a decent collection of medals as well.

New Year, New Opportunities

Dear PBC Membership,

Welcome to 2017 and our first update of the new year! If you are reading this, then you have survived Inauguration weekend and the subsequent river closure that luckily ends tonight. While not ruining the mystery surrounding this event, I wanted to spill a tiny secret for those who are thirsty to attend. The menu laid out for this event will not only be served, but also […]

Sam Stitt: Wrapping Up 2016

As we near Christmas and the New Year, I wanted to reach out to you one last time with an update to wrap up the 2016 season. Not only do we have a recap of the HPP/Social Committee’s Christmas Bash, but also some toasty results from the 5th Annual Full Ham Triathlon, hosted by the PBC Men’s Sweep Team.

I would also like to take this opportunity to include a great stocking stuffer this season, for those of you who are like me and plan to be more organized as a New Year’s resolution for 2017.

With another successful Bash in the books, PBC stayed true to form with spiked eggnog (thank you Santa!), 12 Days of Christmas on repeat, Santa riding in on his German engineered sleigh, decorating ornaments in the Belly Button Bakery, and tons of toys donated to Toys for Tots in the spirit of Christmas. We were […]
