|PBC’s Social Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Council are pleased to share an invitation from the Capital Rowing Club to join them in their Virtual Happy Hour to benefit Capital Rowing Club and local business The Alibi restaurant.|
This is an opportunity to socialize with other rowers and also to support DC-area-wide programs and initiatives to bring rowing opportunities and excellence in rowing to a diverse community. The event will take place on Zoom from 7 PM until 9 PM on Thursday, November 12th.Here are the event details: Covid-19 and South Capitol Bridgework may have kept us from rowing the Head of the Anacostia (HOTA) in 2020, but we can still celebrate the spirit of this most unusual season. Join Capital Rowing Club on Thursday, November 12 at 7 p.m. for a virtual happy hour featuring a mixology lesson, capital rowing trivia game, and a non-traditional take on HOTA’s traditional apple pie contest. The Alibi’s very own Rachel Traverso has concocted the CAPITAL DRIVE cocktail giving a nod to both rowing’s British heritage and CRC’s home on the Anacostia River. After she teaches us how to mix the magical brew, we will continue to mingle with the chance to win prizes for Capital Rowing trivia and the best (virtual) apple pie.Proceeds from the $15 registration fee support the work of Capital Rowing Club, including our Juniors and Adaptive Rowing Programs.
Capital Rowing Club is committed to bringing rowing opportunities and excellence in rowing to the diverse community of the Anacostia River and the larger Washington, DC area.
