Please join us for the 2019 Annual Meeting at PBC to get up to date on what has been going on at Potomac, what are in the plans for the year and to vote for Board members! Social hour and reception to begin at 2:00pm and our Social Committee always ensures oysters and champagne for all. We will be christening a new hull and take our annual photo on the dock at 3:00pm. The annual meeting will begin at 3:30pm. Please make it to this meeting on time so we have a quorum to kick things off.
Potomac Boat Club has a 9-person Board that is the governing body of PBC. The Board is a collaborative body and is an all-volunteer position for our non-profit organization. Every year, we hold elections for three board member seats, which serves for a three-year term. After we have the newly elected Board, the Club will elect and vote for Club Officers. If you believe that you can represent your fellow members, provide balance and understanding of different viewpoints, potential to improve the Club, and have the energy and passion to devote, we recommend that you give this serious consideration.
Our governing documents provide that only senior members in good standing (i.e., are current on all dues and fees payments), and who attend the Annual Meeting in person, may vote. No proxies are allowed – and one vote per membership. If you intend to run for a Board position, please send a statement of why you would like to be considered for this opportunity. Please send your statement to [email protected] for publication on the PBC website.
