Row in the World’s Longest Rowing Shell – 24 Scullers and a Cox
Potomac Boat Club invites you to join in a decidedly unique experience. Row in the world famous Stampfli “Red Express” 24x during its US tour stop at PBC for the 35th Charlie Butt Scullers’ Head of the Potomac on Sunday, September 27.
Sign up for an individual seat or enter your line-up. You can choose from one of two flights meeting promptly at 5:00 PM and at 6:00 PM on PBC’s dock. The organizer will contact you with specifics about line-ups once sign-ups are in.
PBC also offers non-ticketed events surrounding this spectacular Swiss innovation.
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM See the Stampfli 24x on display and fully assembled at the swissnex’s tent in the Georgetown Waterfront Park during the Charlie Butt Scullers Head of the Potomac Regatta.
4:00 PM Watch a crew of 24 Olympians and elite scullers row the Red Express on its maiden voyage down the Potomac River starting at PBC and turning near Memorial Bridge.
Designed by Swiss rowing legend Melchior Burgin, the Red Express is brought to the US for the first time with support from swissnex Boston, Presence Switzerland, Canton of Basel-Stadt, SWISS Airlines, MatchingNeeds, and Croker.
