With the winter training well underway, we were back on the water this morning for another valuable row, and I thought would be a good time to send out a reminder about the Rising Stars Dinner and Silent Auction on March 8. This is also an open call for items to be auctioned off that night.
By now you should have all received the invitation to this fourth annual event to benefit our 2016 Olympic hopefuls.
The Potomac Boat Club Open Sculling Program attracts talented athletes from across the United States to train for elite national and international competition. The Program has produced athletes who have earned Olympic, World and National Championship medals. Our goal is to earn the honor of competing for our country internationally and to bring prestige to the club and program we represent. Our dedication, perseverance, and hope, like that of aspiring athletes before us, embody the tradition of Potomac Boat Club.
All the proceeds of this event will fund the purchase of the most current technology, state-of the-art equipment and resources, and travel expenses to regattas. In rowing, not all the champions are on the water. There are literally hundreds of sponsors, judges and officials, coaches—the list is long. Without them, there would be no gold medals. We invite you to play a role by donating an item or service for the silent auction. Please complete the attached silent auction donation form to pledge your contribution. With your participation and donation, our fundraising event will be a success and we will be able to continue the Potomac Boat Club tradition of excellence.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
