First Annual PBC Beer Raid Ride

First Annual PBC Beer Raid Ride

First Annual PBC Beer Raid Ride

This past Sunday, I was joined by 25 eager riders from PBC.  What were they so eager about you ask?  One of our treasured members, Lorea Wetten invited the whole club to ride bikes out to Sterling to “raid” her craft beer warehouse :-0

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining. The humidity was absent. And we had a nice cool breeze to keep us dry.  We all started out from PBC at 8:15 AM with thoughts of IPA’s and Oktoberfest beers in our minds.  The ride took us by the airport and eventually joined the W&OD bike trail for a 99.9% bike trail ride!
Once at the Wetten Hop and Vine warehouse, we were treated to a tour, I’ve never seen so much beer and all of it was good beer.  There were thousands of kegs on hand. The only question was, “Who brought a tap?”
Lorea had beer ready for us. It was ice cold and we were ready after a 30 mile photo 3rideout. We found a perfect spot near a pond to enjoy lunch and talk about the ride.  After a few beers, we knew that if we didn’t get going, there would be some taxis called so we mounted up and headed back to PBC.
Back at the boathouse, I was joined by a few of the other riders and we slipped in the Potomac for a nice post-ride swim.  If Steve Vermillion were still around, he’d have been the first one signed up!  Thanks to Lorea for providing the beer and Sean for promoting (not organizing) the ride.
