To PBC from Virginia:

From Key Bridge make a right onto M Street. Take M Street to Wisconsin Ave (major intersection). Due to road construction, Wisconsin Ave is one-way Northbound, so continue on M Street past Wisconsin and make a right on 31st, 30th, or 29th Street and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, make a right onto Water/K Street and take the road all the way to the end. Potomac Boat Club is a white building on the left hand side just before you pass under an old bridge arch.

From Roosevelt Bridge (US 50E or I-66E), get in the left lane on the bridge before entering D.C. Take the left-most exit ramp off the bridge onto a four-lane road. Get in the second lane from the left. That lane first forks left (two left lanes go left, two right lanes go right), then forks right. Take the right fork. At the immediate traffic light, turn left onto Water/K Street, which heads down a ramp under the Whitehurst Freeway. Proceed down Water Street until it ends. Potomac Boat Club is a white building on the left hand side just before you pass under an old bridge arch.

From Memorial Bridge, follow the directions for I-95 South below.

To PBC from US 50W or the BW Parkway

Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway until it ends, putting you on US 50 towards Washington. Take US 50 into the city, at which point US 50 turns into New York Avenue. Follow New York Avenue through the Northeast section of the city, watching for signs for H Street. Stay on New York Avenue by bearing right (if you take the 395S left instead, follow the I-95 south directions below). Take New York Avenue to 15th Street NW, and turn right. Take 15th Street to K Street, and turn left. Follow K Street until it turns into Water Street (after 28th Street). Continue down Water Street through a series of 4-way stops to the end. Potomac Boat Club is a white building on the left hand side just before you pass under an old bridge arch.

To PBC from 95 North

When the road splits between 95 and 495 head to Virginia (right side). After almost 15 miles there will be a turnoff for the Clara Barton Parkway. Take the Parkway East all the way into Georgetown. The Parkway will turn into Canal Road, and then turn into M Street. Take M Street to Wisconsin Ave (major intersection). Due to road construction, Wisconsin Ave is one-way Northbound, so continue on M Street past Wisconsin and make a right on 31st, 30th, or 29th Street and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill, make a right onto Water/K Street and take the road all the way to the end. Potomac Boat Club is a white building on the left hand side just before you pass under an old bridge arch.

To PBC from 95 South.

Take 395N into Washington DC. Take the exit for Memorial Bridge. Stay in your right hand lane as you go over the bridge. Once you are over the bridge, turn to your far right. There will be stop sign after you go around the turn. At the stop sign go right this will take you onto Rock Creek Parkway. (If you end up at a stop light after going right at the bridge just take another right - that will take you on to Rock Creek too). Almost immediately after you get onto Rock Creek there will be an off ramp for the Whitehurst Freeway - take it. Immediately get into the left lanes of traffic. DO NOT go to Whitehurst Freeway but instead follow the road around to the left until you come to a stop sign. At the stop sign take a right. This should bring to an intersection with Water/K Street. At the stop light make a left. Follow Water/K Street through a series of 4-way stops to the end. Potomac Boat Club is a white building on the left hand side just before you pass under an old bridge arch.


To Thompson's Boat Center from I-95 South

Take 395N into Washington DC. Take the exit for Memorial Bridge. Stay in your right hand lane as you go over the bridge. Once you are over the bridge, turn to your far right. There will be stop sign after you go around the turn. At the stop sign go right this will take you onto Rock Creek Parkway. (If you end up at a stop light after going right at the bridge just take another right - that will take you on to Rock Creek too). Almost immediately after you get onto Rock Creek there will be an off ramp for the WhiteHurst Freeway - take it. Immediately get into the left lanes of traffic. DO NOT go to Whitehurst Freeway but instead follow the road around to the left until you come to a stop sign. At the Stop sign make a left turn. You will immediately come to a stop light. Make a right turn that brings you into the far left lane. You are now on Virginia Avenue. At the next light which is just yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.

To Thompson's from 95 North

After you take the right follow the road for a few hundred yards until you come to a stop light. This is Virginia Avenue. Make a right turn that takes you into the far left lane. At the next light which is just yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.

To Thompson's from Virginia

From Key Bridge make a right onto M Street. Take M St to Wisconsin Ave (major intersection). Due to road construction, Wisconsin Ave is one-way Northbound, so continue on M Street past Wisconsin and make a right on 31st, 30th, or 29th Street and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill make a left. Take this road until you come to a stop light. At the stop light turn right. This will be a confusing intersection so be careful. After you take the right follow the road for a few hundred yards until you come to a stop light. This is Virginia Avenue. Make a right turn that takes you into the far left lane. At the next light which is just yards after the turn you will go straight which takes you directly into Thompson's Parking Lot.

Alternate Car directions to Thompson's if coming through Georgetown

Take M Street to Wisonsin Ave (major intersection). Due to road construction, Wisconsin Ave is one-way Northbound, so continue on M Street past Wisconsin and make a right on 31st, 30th, or 29th Street and go down the hill. At the bottom of the hill make a left. Go through a series of four-way stops until you have the choice of going off to your right into a small tunnel or straight ahead. Go to your right. This will take you directly onto Rock Creek Parkway. Once on Rock Creek the first right is the turn for Thompson's Boat Center.
