February 20, 2-14 – Thursday morning, as Sadie Quarrier and Lena Wang prepared to launch a double from Potomac Boat Club’s dock, they were startled by the noise of a very big splash. They crossed the river immediately to the area where the splash had occurred and found a young man struggling for his life in frigid waters. They quickly and carefully rescued him from the water and with the aid of Bill Cox and Katie Stainken in another double, they rowed the man to safety.
